I went into Device Manager and found the new entry under "Ports (COM & LPT)", Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port (COM5). Serials: free download software, free video dowloads. If you are using a trial version of Nero 2017 you can easily enter your bought serial number into Nero Control Center to switch to a full product. I believe that Win 7 will load the proper driver when the adapter is detected. Note that you cannot install Nero 2017 products using a former Nero product version serial number. I have always found that my BS2 & BS2P never had a problem connecting through a USB to Serial adapter, Prolific or FTDI.
